I decided to hold my titration one week in order to take part in birthday celebrations. Starting up again, I’m at the point where withdrawal symptoms peak. The most prominent this week is depression.
To combat the thoughts in my brain, I’ve decided to keep today’s post light, and do a small Q&A about myself. I used to enjoy these sorts of mini-quizzes in the beginning days of social media. It’s kinda nice to know real people are behind these words.
Feel free to let me know down in the comments your answers. I’d like to get to know you a bit, reader!
Do you sing in the car?
Yes. You’ll also see me busting some sort of move.
What do you eat on your fries?
I love malt/apple cider vinegar and salt. Close second is mayonnaise, but I’m rather picky on the type.
Did you have a baby blanket?
Yes, two actually! I still have them! My grandmother knitted it for me, and it has my name sewn on the side. The second my mother keeps from when I was newborn.
How many foreign countries have you visited?
Five total: Cuba, Jamaica, USA, France and the UK. I only spent a 12-hour layover in the UK. I need to get back there.
Do you ask for directions when you are lost?
Yes. I still use paper maps and take notes. One time, when I was in France, a very kind man went out of his way and took me back to the street I needed to be. Merci monsieur!
Pepsi or Coke?
Do you need corrective lenses?
Sort of. I had to get special glasses that reduce the brightness of light. My hyper-sensitive eyes were giving me headaches.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
Let’s see… My chucks, my boots, my sneakers, and my flats. Oh! And my flip-flops and sandals. That makes six.
Have you ever been stung by a bee?
No, thankfully. That also goes for wasps and hornets. This makes me a bit phobic as I have no idea if I’m allergic.
Coffee or tea?
Both! I always have a cup of coffee in the morning, but I have reduced the amount. If it’s any time after 2pm, I stick to tea. Currently I’m in love with a very cold Ito En Oi Ocha green tea and Starbuck’s Rooibos latte.
Do you hold grudges?
No. If it’s something that affected me personally, my trust in said person will be broken. It sometimes takes a lot of effort to regain, or the relationship will dissolve.
Can you play poker?
No and I want to learn!
How do you eat eggs?
Currently it’s been boiled, but I love soft poached. I’d love to try raw eggs.
Have you ever been banned from a public place?
Temporarily and it was illegal. A head nurse told me I was no longer allowed to step foot on a hospital property after I left very distraught from a mental health appointment. I pushed the door too hard, causing it to slam. They deemed this as a threatening action towards a staff member. It was review from an outside body and deemed my case was mismanaged by that team, and a formal apology was issued to me by said nurse.
Who was better: the Beatles or Elvis Presley?
I find both overrated, but I respect what they did for the music industry as a whole.
Are you a clean or messy person?
Clean. Too clean, actually. One of my compulsions to deal with my anxiety is obsessive cleaning, so I have to keep that in check.
How long does it take you to get ready?
Growing up, one part of my father’s abusive actions was rushing everyone. I was conditioned to be ready to go in a snap no matter how I was feeling. Now that I’m in therapy and away from that very toxic and controlling behavior, I go at my pace. Some days are faster, some are slower. I’d say an hour is the average.
Do you wear sunglasses indoors to look cool or stylish?
Actually, I wear sunglasses indoors because the lights are too bright! Sometimes my glasses just don’t do the trick. People have told me I look cool, thank you?
Which is your favourite Pokémon?
Ditto! It’s all Pokémon in one!
Is the glass half full or half empty?
It’s a glass with a beverage inside.
